My advice for booking your honeymoon
Not sure where to start?
Make a bucket list. Each of you should separately list destinations you’d love to visit, then sit down together over a coffee and compare notes. More often than not, there will be some overlap, and if not, you may be able to combine two or even three places into one incredible trip!
Think outside the box! Your honeymoon doesn’t have to mean just sun and sand—unless that’s what you want. Have you always wanted to take a hot air balloon ride, learn to scuba dive, go whale watching, or even master the art of making the perfect curry? Just let me know! I work with fantastic local ground handlers, and if it’s possible, I can make it happen.
Be flexible. Having a specific destination in mind is great, but sometimes factors like weather, vaccination requirements, or local events can influence the best time to travel. Keeping an open mind may lead to an even better experience.
Consider delaying your honeymoon. This has become increasingly popular in recent years. Whether it’s to avoid the rainy season, fit around work schedules, or simply to have something special to look forward to after the wedding, there are plenty of reasons to postpone your trip slightly.
Set a budget. The amount you spend won’t determine how special your honeymoon is, but having a clear idea of your budget helps me find the best options that work for you.
Consider vaccine and entry requirements. Many long-haul destinations require vaccinations or anti-malarial medication, which may involve additional costs and advance planning. It’s always best to check with your GP or local vaccine centre before booking.
Book early where possible—quite simply, it will provide you with the best choice and it usually saves you money! Our fantastic 'myTC app' offers many great features, including the flexibility to make payments in instalments towards your honeymoon quickly and conveniently—a favourite among my honeymoon couples.
**The Importance of Booking with Someone You Trust**
My ultimate advice is to book your honeymoon with someone you trust, who will be there whenever you need them. This is one of the most special trips you will ever take, and it’s essential that everything runs smoothly. The assistance and financial protection I offer are second to none, and I can help you choose the perfect destination to create unforgettable memories that last a lifetime.
Still looking for inspiration? Here are my top five honeymoon destinations for 2024/25:
1) North America
There’s so much to explore, from vibrant cities like Las Vegas and New Orleans to beautiful island getaways like Key West or Maui. For those seeking adventure, national parks like Yosemite and Yellowstone offer breathtaking scenery, while epic train journeys through the Rocky Mountains provide a unique and unforgettable experience. The USA and Canada truly have something for everyone.
2) Cruising
A wonderfully relaxing way to see multiple destinations without the hassle of packing and unpacking. Cruises offer state-of-the-art ships with fantastic service, mouth-watering food, and plenty of luxury. Personally, it’s one of my all-time favourite holidays, and it’s perfect for honeymooners looking for both relaxation and exploration.
3) The Caribbean and Mexico
Picture-perfect turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and luxury all-inclusive resorts—ideal for honeymooners who want to unwind in paradise. For those who like to explore, there are fantastic day trips such as visiting Chichen Itza’s Mayan ruins in Mexico, Stingray City in Antigua, the Mount Gay Rum Tour in Barbados, or an action-packed day at a waterpark.
4) South Africa
South Africa offers an unforgettable honeymoon experience. It’s world-renowned for its incredible safaris, but there’s so much more to discover. Many first-time visitors start with a few days in Cape Town before hiring a car and driving the iconic Garden Route, which is packed with picturesque towns, vineyards, marine life, dramatic scenery, and rich culture. It’s also a haven for foodies and offers excellent value once you arrive.
5) Thailand
Thailand is an amazing honeymoon destination, offering a perfect mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation. Whether it’s exploring the bustling streets of Bangkok, visiting ancient temples, island-hopping in the Andaman Sea, or enjoying the stunning beaches of Koh Samui or Phuket, Thailand has something for every couple. The food is outstanding, the hospitality is warm and welcoming, and the luxurious resorts offer a blend of romance and indulgence at fantastic value.
